Job Description

As a Value Engineer you are responsible for the efficient and effective realization of (NPI) products. Together with your colleagues in Product Engineering you'll take care of the work preparation of products and you'll provide support to your production colleagues. Additionally you are responsible for the industrialization of new products and you ensure product optimization through, for example, design or process optimization. 

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • You ensure optimization of the processes necessary for the realization of a product; 
  • You provide the necessary tooling for a product; 
  • You determine the required process flow and associated process steps; 
  • You implement applicable customer requirements and industry standards; 
  • You are responsible for accepting or the delivery of Technical Product Documentation (TPD);
  • You make make/buy decisions and you provide input in the selection of suppliers;
  • You are responsible for industrialization of new products (NPI), in which all aspects of QLTC are included;
  • You are responsible for the overall performance of a product (QLTC) and you take measures to improve this;
  • You are responsible for managing the applicable performance indicators (KPIs and PIs) of the primary process; 
  • You support the Cost Engineer in determining the required process times and initial costs; 
  • You ensure the accuracy and currency of the data such as TPD and Product Data Management (Item Configuration Management). 

 

Job Requirements

  • You have completed an education at HBO or WO level, preferably in a technical direction (Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics);
  • You have significant experience in a relevant precision mechanical/mechatronic working environment; 
  • Knowledge of FMEA and Control Plan is a plus;
  • You have sound language skills in both written and spoken English and Dutch; 
  • You have a proactive attitude, supported by persuasiveness, anticipatory ability and strong communication skills.
