Job description

As Tool Service Centre Support, you will be responsible for preparing, issuing and receiving tools and chains for production in the most efficient and effective way possible. You will also ensure the management and maintenance of the tools and the clamping equipment present in the Tool Service Centre (TSC).


Duties and responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the assembly and installation of tools/tool chains, based on the specified tool lists; 
  • You will be responsible for issuing and receiving cutting/measuring tools and clamping tools needed for the execution of production orders;
  • You will carry out administrative tasks in order to maintain proper control and monitoring of the data required within the tool system and the required operating procedure as laid down in the procedures used;
  • You will monitor the stock level of the tools and the clamping equipment and then prepare the purchase orders;
  • You will control and evaluate the quantity and quality of tools and clamping devices (as purchased/as to be issued/as to be received) as well as their maintenance and management;
  • You will inform the TSC team leader in case of major fluctuations and/or deficiencies in tool wear and clamping resources or changes in KMWE's tool system; 
  • You will advise employees on the use of tools and clamping devices;
  • You will partly independently determine problem tackling actions and the working sequence required within the framework of the established design (the shop floor document), and you will do so on the basis of your insight and experience in preparation, control and guidance.


Job requirements

  • You have completed your training at LBO/MBO level, in the field of metalworking, mechanical engineering or fine mechanics; 
  • Experience in machining/shaping processes is a plus;
  • You have a broad knowledge of tools, a broad spatial insight and knowledge of and experience with materials;
  • You have good communication skills, a high degree of independence, understanding and accuracy;
  • You work well in a team.
