Cost Engineer

Job description

As Cost Engineer you are responsible for creating the cost estimation and technical preparation of quotations. You will support the Account Manager in the motivation of cost and negotiations. You will check technical feasibility and you will define the optimal manufacturing process. You will report directly to the Manager Cost Engineering.

Key duties and responsibilities

You are responsible for the cost estimation as target for operations, procurement and sales.
You will analyze customers' requirements, specifications and demand.
You will review specifications om completeness and feasibility.
You are jointly responsible for make/buy decisions.
You will interact with internal operation, procurement, suppliers and the Account Teams.
You are responsible for the technical motivation of a target cost including related reports.
You identify the constraints, risks, assumptions and opportunities in a business case.
You will process the cost data in the ERP system.
You will provide technical support in negotiations.
You investigate the opportunities for cost reduction.

Required knowledge, competences and skills

You have a degree at the level of higher professional education (HBO or WO), preferably in a technical direction.
You have relevant experience within a comparable industry and subject-oriented education/courses.
You have strong technical and analytical skills with specialism in manufacturing.
You have strong communication skills, you are anticipating and you have an excellent customer-oriented attitude.
You have good command of the Dutch and English language.
