All-round Turning Machine Operator (CNC-Turning Machinist)

Job description
As a Setup/Operator CNC turning machinist, you will be responsible for independently setting up and operating the most advanced machines. You will use CNC turning machines to produce and deliver complex products within the High Tech industry with the highest degree of accuracy possible. You will also contribute to discussions about the machining strategy, the tool choice, the clamping method and the quality assessment. KMWE has CNC turning machines by Okuma Multus, Mori Seiki and DMG, among others. Some are equipped with driven tools and/or a robot for loading and unloading material and tools.
Duties and responsibilities
- Based on drawings, work orders and specifications you will independently operate the CNC machining centres;
- You will be responsible for setting up the machine in such a way that the machining process runs optimally and in accordance with the relevant procedures/programs;
- You will be responsible for the quality of the product and the production process, and you will also carry out the prescribed quality/control procedures;
- Based on your insight and experience you will independently determine the work sequence;
- You will carry out (preventive) maintenance work on machines/tools and clamping equipment;
- You will participate in discussions and actively contribute to the future of the department.
Job requirements
- You work and think at MBO level, specifically in the field of mechanical engineering or fine mechanics;
- You have extensive machining experience, including at least 4 years of CNC turning;
- You have a broad machine control knowledge, a broad spatial insight and knowledge of and experience with materials;
- You have good communication skills;
- You have a high degree of independence, understanding, accuracy and team spirit;
- You have knowledge and skills with regard to shape and position tolerances and the common measuring instruments/quality systems;
- You will work the day shift or within the shifted working hours system called VWS (Verschoven Werktijden Systeem). The machine groups at KMWE run 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) and you will run a full working week in 3 days. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for optimal machine staffing and the organisation of your working days.
