Job description

As an All-round Milling Machine Operator, you will be responsible for independently setting up and operating the most advanced machines. You will use five-axis milling machines to produce and deliver complex products within the High Tech industry with the highest possible degree of accuracy. You will also contribute to discussions about the machining strategy, the tool choice, the clamping method and the quality assessment. At KMWE we have state of the art machinery and we continuously invest in our employees’ development and our high-tech machinery. We have five-axis machining centres by Grob, Makino, Unisign, DMG and Hermle of which several are robotically steered.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Based on drawings, work orders and specifications, you will independently operate the CNC machining centres;
  • You will be responsible for setting up the machine in such a way that the machining process runs optimally and in accordance with the relevant procedures/programmes;
  • You will be responsible for the quality of the product and the production process, and you will also carry out the prescribed quality/control procedures;
  • Based on your insight and experience you will independently determine the work sequence;
  • You will carry out (preventive) maintenance work on machines, tools and clamping equipment.

 

Job requirements

  • You have completed your training at MBO level, in the field of metalworking, mechanical engineering or fine mechanics;
  • You have extensive experience in machining/tooling, including at least 4 years of CNC milling;
  • You have a broad machine control knowledge, a broad spatial insight and knowledge of and experience with materials; 
  • You have knowledge and skills with regard to shape and position tolerances, common measuring instruments and quality systems;
  • You have good communication skills, a high degree of independence, understanding, accuracy and team spirit;
  • You work the day shift or within the shifted working hours system. KMWE is known for its special shifted working hours system within in our milling department. Here, the machine groups run 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) and you will run a full working week in 3 days. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for optimal machine staffing and the organisation of your working days.
