Students manufacture parts for Solar Team Eindhoven

Nice challenge for our students

From an idea to a driving vehicle, from technical drawings to physical parts. Last week, Coen Foolen and Charlot Felderhof of Solar Team Eindhoven crossed over to KMWE, which is also residents at Brainport Industries Campus. Students got the chance to manufacture the parts that will enable SHOW to drive.

We are proud to be able to contribute to something great. On the one hand to manufacture the parts for Solar Team Eindhoven that will enable SHOW to drive. And on the other hand we are grateful to Solar Team Eindhoven that the students got the opportunity to take a look at the SHOW to see where ‘their products’ are assembled.

Official partner

KMWE is official partner of Solar Team Eindhoven (STE). Solar Team Eindhoven is developing a solar-powered vehicle which is called the SHOW. SHOW stands for Self-sustaining House On Wheels. A mobile house in which you can live and work while traveling on the energy of the sun. This vehicle is self-sufficient in terms of energy and independent of charging infrastructure. This shows that driving on solar energy has endless possibilities eg by using the generated energy for both driving and living.

Solar Team Eindhoven

Solar Team Eindhoven wants to inspire the transition towards a sustainable future in both energy as well as mobility. Their slogan “the best way to predict the future, is to create it” fits our vision to Manufacture the Future. KMWE will support the team of TU/e students by engineering and manufacturing parts of their solar vehicle. We are looking forward to cooperate with this team of highly motivated and enthusiastic students by sharing our expert knowledge and years of experience. In this way we can contribute to the innovation in energy transition and mobility by bringing together technology and sustainability.
